He Did It!

Today Jojo reached for a toy and picked it up...

dropped it...

grabbed it again...

and got it to his mouth.

Just like a big boy.

All using his left hand.

Two Months Old

Jojo had his two month checkup on Monday.

He is 12lbs 6 oz.

And 23.5 inches long.

He loves to smile...

and talk to his daddy.

 Last night he slept 8 hours straight, so we hope this is the beginning of sleeping through the night.



Sweet Baby Talk

Four Weeks Old

I am four weeks old today. Mommy is sad because I just moved out of newborn diapers and into size ones, which means I'm getting big already. Yesterday she packed up the newborn footed sleepers because I'm too long to fit into them.

I am getting stronger and like to practice holding up my head. I am tracking things with my eyes and I turn my head when I hear Mommy or Daddy's voice.

Last week we celebrated Taylor and Auntie Theresa's birthdays.

Grammy Diane came home for the party and finally got to hold me.

So did Grandpa Bob.

I also met Auntie Lori last week. She and John came over and brought Spaghetti pie. Auntie Lori didn't want her picture taken.

Lately I've been napping in my Baby Papasan chair instead of my bassinet.

And I've found new ways to let Mommy know I'm hungry:

I'm a baby, gotta love me!

Family

Last Tuesday was a busy day.

Taylor and his dad came over and then Taylor went to Smashburger with us - my first trip to a restaurant. I slept through it. We also took Taylor to a Dr appointment. I slept through that too.

Tuesday evening I met lots of family.

I met Great-grandma Theora, Great Uncle Wayne and Aunt Darlene, and mom's cousins Sara, Lisa, and Katie.

A Video for Grammy

On Sunday we made this short video for Grammy Diane.  She hasn't seen me yet because she is in Iowa helping Great Grandpa Bob as he recovers from cancer surgery.

Day 3 - Friday

What a tough day!

First I had my circumcision - ouch! Then the pediatrician noticed that I was tongue-tied (my tongue was stuck down). So she clipped it and now I can stick out my tongue.

When I got back to our room the nurse noticed there was a lot of blood on my onesie. My umbilical cord had come off too soon so the pediatrician had to come back and use some silver nitrate to stop the bleeding.

After that it was time to go home.

All ready to go.

Daddy drove very carefully while Mommy rode in the back with me.

Home and snuggled into my bassinet.

Day 2 - Thursday

We stayed in the hospital a second day because Mommy wasn't feeling so well.

 Auntie Theresa and my cousin Cy came to visit.

I spent most of the day cuddling with Mommy and Daddy.

Wednesday - My First Day

Wednesday was a busy day.

First the doctor and nurses got me all cleaned up, measured. and weighed. I peed on the nurse while she was trying to measure me, but she didn't mind.

Then I spent some time getting to know Mommy and Daddy. Grandpa Bob and my big brother Taylor were my first visitors. Then Nan and Pop came to see me.

Later Uncle Colin came to visit.

And I was given my first bath.

Overall it was a very good first day.

Hi! I'm Josef but my aunties call me Jojo. I was born on August 25, 2010 at 6:17 AM. I weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long.

My mommy and daddy are setting up this blog so our friends and family who live far away can keep up to date with what's going on in my world.
